Dear Trumansburg Community,
We are aware of threats that were posted on social media platforms last night, September 16, targeting the TST BOCES campus. Threats are being reported across New York State in similar fashion. The Tompkins County Sheriff's Department and State Police have investigated the origins and nature of the threat. The threats are non-specific, and appear to be recycled or similar threats to those around the state. Law enforcement has determined the source of the threat, and there is no credible threat at this time.
Our District Safety Personnel are aware of the situation and monitoring it closely. The District is in frequent communication with the District Superintendent, Lily Talcott, at TST BOCES who is monitoring the situation closely as well. Students are welcome to reach out to the adults around them and staff are welcome to reach out to colleagues or their supervisors.
As always, we urge everyone to follow our safety protocols, and if you see something to say something. We are appreciative of the work that law enforcement has done through the night. The safety of our students and staff remains a priority. Please reach out to our building principals or district office with any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Kimberly Bell
Superintendent of Schools
Trumansburg Central School District
